A healthcare opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) with medical-surgical and post-operative experience in a 30-bed unit specializing in med/surg and orthopedic patient care. This role is based in Bessemer, AL, on the 4 West floor and offers a 36-hour workweek with a 7 PM shift schedule and every other weekend coverage.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of experience
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proven skills in medical-surgical, orthopedic, and post-op nursing
- Strong time management abilities and adaptability to float based on staffing needs
- Compassionate, friendly demeanor with a strong sense of urgency and resilience
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care to med/surg and post-operative patients at a 6:1 patient ratio
- Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to hospital policies, including dress code standards (navy scrubs; no artificial or long nails; no earbuds)
