Job Description

Provide skilled nursing care as an RN on a medical-surgical unit in a well-established acute care hospital serving diverse patients. This night shift role is a 13-week contract with flexible guaranteed hours of either 36 or 48 weekly, based in Ballwin, MO. Candidates must hold a current Missouri RN license and have a minimum of one year of inpatient Med-Surg nursing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with ancillary departments to coordinate patient care and optimize comfort.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional accountability.
  • Adapt to float as needed to other units based on staffing.
  • Participate in facility-mandated orientation and adhere to specified uniform and safety policies.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN license eligible in Missouri or already licensed.
  • BLS certification from AHA; ACLS preferred.
  • At least 1 year of inpatient Med-Surg experience.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work night shift hours 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, including every other weekend.
  • Flexibility for orientation on day shift prior to nights.

Schedule & Location:

  • Night shift: 1900-0730 hours.
  • 36 or 48 hours weekly (indicate preference on submission).
  • Facility located near St. Louis, Missouri, with convenient access from Ballwin.
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1.

The hospital offers a dynamic work environment with 15 beds currently open and additional expansion underway. Technology used includes EPIC EMR, Nova blood glucose meters, and advanced IV pumps. Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7 depending on shift.
