Job Description

Shape lives and excel in your nursing career with an opportunity on a renowned Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology unit. In this contract role, you'll work alongside professionals dedicated to patient-centered, long-term care, handling a diverse range of complex, high-acuity cases. The unit features 17 beds and utilizes advanced equipment, including vents, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitors.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
  • Every third weekend required (24 hours that weekend)
  • Holidays as needed
  • 36 weekly guaranteed hours
  • No call requirements

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification
  • Previous stepdown or critical care experience with strong skills in blood administration, electrolyte replacement, neuro assessment, and central line management
  • Comfort in administering high-risk medications and hazardous drugs
  • Oncology/Hematology or bone marrow transplant experience highly preferred
  • Ability and willingness to float to similar stepdown/critical care and oncology units

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care to hematology/oncology patients, including those undergoing bone marrow transplants
  • Perform complex assessments, administer chemotherapy, manage IV therapies, and conduct neuro assessments
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues
  • Maintain meticulous patient records via EPIC/Beacon EMR
  • Champion patient dignity and strive for an environment where everyone feels respected and cared for
