Job Description

Provide advanced nursing care as a Registered Nurse within a specialized orthopedic surgical unit located in Arvada, CO. This contract opportunity involves working the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM in a 20-bed orthopedic medical-surgical unit that boasts a dedicated nursing team and a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. The unit serves a diverse patient population including elective orthopedic patients and orthopedic trauma cases, with a clear focus on delivering high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage the care of up to 5 patients during each shift
  • Perform orthopedic-specific procedures, including dressing changes and aspirations
  • Administer effective pain management tailored to patient needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to maintain patient-centered care
  • Utilize Meditech EMR system for accurate documentation and communication
  • Uphold unit policies that promote safety and quality clinical practice

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active RN licensure with Medical-Surgical (MS) orthopedic experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to independently manage a caseload of 5 patients on a surgical unit
  • Experience with pain management and orthopedic nursing best practices highly desirable
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude who contributes to a supportive work environment
