Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00-19:00 and 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend rotation
- No call required
- Holiday commitment: 75% of contract holidays
- Schedule cycles every six weeks
Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg and Telemetry experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficient in stroke care/NIH assessments, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, and various drain/tube management
- Strong skills in medication/drip management, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids
- Comfort with Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell dispensing, and Philips monitors
- Willingness to float within the region as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients with a range of diagnoses including stroke, COPD, chest pain, altered mental status, and GI bleed
- Manage patient loads up to 1:7-8 during surge periods, though typically 1:5-6
- Perform assessments, manage medications/drips, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Float between designated hospitals within the regional network
- Document care efficiently using Epic
- Support and mentor CNAs as part of the care team
