Experience rewarding med/surg and neuro acute care nursing in a dynamic 24-bed acute care unit. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients recovering from strokes and other neurological events, while also supporting a wide range of general medicine cases. Professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to patient-centered care are essential in this fast-paced, team-focused hospital setting.

Schedule and Hours:

• Night shift: 6:45 PM 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week (with the possibility of up to 3 cancellations per contract)
• Every 3rd weekend rotation

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience, including neuro/post-stroke care
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS (AHA required)
• Proficiency in neuro assessments, dysphagia screenings, stroke protocols, BCMA, and interdisciplinary communication
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Ability to float to other acute care units and facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed
• Preferred: Experience with TR band management

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough neurological and stroke assessments
• Manage dysphagia screenings and coordinate post-stroke care
• Administer medications and treatments using BCMA
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in Cerner
• Deliver high-quality patient care while managing a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
