In this dynamic department, you'll collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, managing pre- and post-procedural care for a diverse inpatient and outpatient population. The role encompasses everything from patient preparation and recovery to overnight observation, with special exposure to patients undergoing CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, X-ray, and ultrasound diagnostics. The setting is ideal for nurses who thrive in high-energy, diverse clinical situations and who are looking to expand their skills in both medical/surgical and telemetry settings.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel assignment
  • Fast-paced environment
  • Possible 23hr care shifts with overnight observation

Qualifications:

  • Active New York RN license (required)
  • Minimum two years of registered nursing experience in interventional radiology
  • Telemetry experience (required)
  • Experience caring for GI post-procedural patients (preferred, not required)
  • Medical/surgical background (preferred)
  • BLS & ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (required)
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, flexibility, organization, and team orientation

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-procedural nursing care to IR patients
  • Manage overnight and 23-hour observation for patients before or after intervention
  • Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and the full care team
  • Conduct assessments, administer medications, and monitor vital signs
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, ensuring seamless care transitions
