Job Description

A rewarding travel nursing opportunity is available in Interventional Radiology (IR) at a Level IV Trauma Center located in New Berlin, WI. This role offers hands-on experience with a variety of patient procedures including line placements, drains, biopsies, vascular work, carotid stents, angiograms, and AAA repairs. The position involves working in a modern facility equipped with 2 IR suites and a holding room, supporting 1:1 patient care ratios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide RN care including transport of inpatients, medication administration for sedation, pre- and post-procedure recovery, circulating during procedures, discharge follow-up calls, and coordinating orders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including IR aides, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and charge RNs.
  • Use electronic medical records (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and monitor patient conditions effectively.
  • Participate in weekend rotation every 6th weekend, one weeknight call shift per week, and holiday on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time.
  • Adhere to flexible shift start times between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM with scheduling approved through management.
  • Complete facility and unit orientation, including at least one shift to learn workflow.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience preferred; first-time travelers considered upon review.
  • Previous experience in interventional radiology or related procedural nursing preferred.
  • Ability to manage patient sedation and recovery independently.
  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination and follow-up calls.
