Job Description

Join a dynamic team specializing in interventional radiology within a well-established healthcare setting located in Milwaukee, WI. This travel nursing opportunity is ideal for registered nurses with IR experience who are eager to enhance their clinical skills in a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center environment. The facility includes two state-of-the-art IR suites and a holding room accommodating two patients, providing comprehensive care ranging from line placements and guided biopsies to complex vascular procedures like carotid stents and AAA repairs.

Responsibilities include managing transport and handoff of inpatients, administering medications for sedation, overseeing pre- and post-procedure recovery, circulating during procedures, and coordinating follow-up care calls. Nurses will collaborate closely with techs, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and an IR aide to maintain an efficient and effective patient care workflow. Utilization of EMR systems (EPIC), IV pumps, medication dispensing technology, and monitoring equipment is integral to daily operations.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid RN license
  • Minimum one to two years of IR nursing experience preferred
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Strong skills in patient transport, medication administration, and procedure coordination
  • Comfortable with flexible shift starts (typically 7:00, 7:30, or 8:00 AM)
  • Ability and willingness to participate in weekend rotations (every 6th weekend) and on-call shifts including one weeknight call per week with a 30-minute response time
