A skilled Registered Nurse with specialization in infusion is needed for a travel nursing position in Quincy, MA, offering a dynamic opportunity in a leading academic medical center environment. This role focuses on oncology infusion care with an emphasis on managing complex gastrointestinal regimens.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years oncology infusion experience within an academic medical center (AMC)
- At least 1 year of outpatient nursing experience
- 1+ years of travel nursing experience
- Strong IV insertion and assessment skills
- Experience managing complex gastrointestinal oncology regimens
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification required
Schedule:
- 36-hour workweek
- Day shifts, either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert infusion nursing care to oncology patients following prescribed treatment plans
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including monitoring for infusion reactions and side effects
- Administer complex gastrointestinal oncology regimens accurately and safely
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and families about treatment protocols, side effect management, and infusion procedures
