Job Description

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse specialized in ICU care within a burn trauma surgical setting. This role involves delivering expert nursing care to both adult and pediatric patients in a high-acuity environment. The primary RN care model with focused patient ratios ensures the ability to provide intensive and personalized care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical nursing care for burn trauma surgical ICU patients using a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, with 1:1 support for critical burn trauma admissions and post-operative care.
  • Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ensuring assessments at least every hour.
  • Manage intravenous drip titration and nurse-driven burn fluid resuscitation using the Parkland formula.
  • Oversee ventilator management and continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH).
  • Conduct hourly pulse and flap Doppler checks to monitor tissue perfusion.
  • Participate in initial burn wound debridement, dressing changes, and conscious sedation as needed.
  • Support surgical recovery and manage epidural pumps effectively.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN license with critical care (ICU) experience.
  • Specialized knowledge or experience in burn trauma patient care is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in advanced monitoring techniques and critical care interventions.
  • Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Strong communication and patient assessment skills.
