By working alongside experienced staff in a busy 18-bed unit serving both ICU and step-down patients, youll gain valuable insights into diverse care protocols and leadership methods. Schedule / Hours
- 13-week assignment starting 6/15
- 36 hours guaranteed weekly; 48 hours available upon request
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Qualifications / Experience
- Current IL RN license
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience, with preference for 3 years
- At least 1 completed travel assignment
- Expertise in NIHSS, dysphagia screening, strong neuro assessments, Tele/EKG, vent management, sepsis protocol, post-ROSC hypothermia care, and medication titration
- Exceptional assessment and critical thinking skills
- Social, adaptable, and resilient candidates valued
- Preferred: Experience with tPa administration and massive transfusion protocols
Duties
- Deliver advanced care for ICU and step-down patients (ratios of 2:1 and 3:1 respectively)
- Float to step-down unit if needed
- Collaborate with a dedicated care team and flex to increased patient volumes
- Maintain high standards of safety and patient monitoring in accordance with established hospital protocols
