Job Description
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care as a skilled Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. In this dynamic contract position, youll provide critical support and expertise to patients experiencing severe and life-threatening medical conditions. As a key member of the ICU team, youll coordinate care, oversee support staff, and use advanced clinical judgment to ensure the best outcomes for critically ill individuals and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for an assigned group of critically ill patients using the nursing process and established standards
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage all aspects of intensive care equipment
- Employ critical thinking and expert decision-making in rapidly changing situations
- Supervise, mentor, and support various levels of assigned nursing staff
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, conditions, and ongoing care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold confidentiality
- Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies to ensure a safe care environment
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license
- Recent clinical experience in an ICU or critical care setting
- Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases
- Proficient with ICU technology, equipment, and EHR systems
- Supervisory or charge nurse experience a plus
- CPR/BLS & ACLS certification required
