An ICU Registered Nurse opportunity is available in Sheboygan Falls, WI, offering the chance to work in a supportive, acute care environment. This contract position provides exposure to a lower acuity ICU setting treating a variety of patient types including general ICU, stroke, COVID, medical, surgical, behavioral health, and overdose cases. The unit operates as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 11 ICU beds.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips, manage ventilators, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and perform line management
- Experience with proning patients preferred
- Comfortable floating to cardiac and stepdown units

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct bedside care and utilize nursing station telemonitoring (no tele tech in ICU)
- Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:2-3 dependent on acuity, covering day and night shifts
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs (1:7 ratio), respiratory therapists available 24/7, hospitalists, ICU educators, and therapy staff during weekdays
- Use EPIC for charting and operate Alaris pumps and Pyxis medication systems
- Participate in a weekend rotation every other weekend with variable on-call and holiday responsibilities
- Complete one orientation shift to learn unit flow
