The assignment at a well-respected community hospital introduces you to intensive care settings with a 2:1 patient ratio and exposure to cross-functional teamwork. Gain comprehensive experience as you float between ICU and Med-Surg, with occasional resource oversight as House Supervisorfurther enhancing your management and critical care competencies for a strong resume. Days off invite adventures across southern Illinoisexplore state parks, indulge in local dining, or enjoy nearby outdoor recreation.
Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week contract
- 48 hours/week guaranteed (OT after 48 hours)
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm7:00am)
- Every other weekend & holiday
- No mandatory on-call (must be able to arrive within one hour for call-back)
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois RN license
- AHA-accredited BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU/Critical Care experience
- Proficient with EPIC charting
- Able to demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills
- Preference for candidates comfortable with periodic float to ED/Med-Surg (orientation provided if floated)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 7-bed ICU
- Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio and uphold high standards of safety and care
- Adapt seamlessly between ICU, Med-Surg, and occasional House Supervisor duties
- Collaborate effectively with diverse medical teams and leadership
