Job Description

Critical care registered nurses provide specialized care for patients facing life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, severe trauma, respiratory distress, and more. This contract opportunity is located in Santa Ana, CA, and focuses on delivering advanced nursing care in an intensive care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
  • Treat wounds and provide advanced life support as needed
  • Assist physicians during medical procedures
  • Monitor and record vital signs meticulously
  • Ensure proper functioning and adjustment of ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and other critical medical equipment
  • Administer intravenous fluids and medications accurately
  • Perform suctioning and airway management
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary critical care team
  • Respond swiftly to life-saving situations following established nursing standards and protocols
  • Advocate for patients needs and provide education and support to their families
  • May provide care to pre- and post-operative patients and participate in case management or administrative tasks

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be submitted with application)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (must be submitted with application)
  • Experience working in ICU or critical care settings is highly preferred
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and complex patient conditions
