Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit (ICU) | Rome, NY | Contract Position

A critical care nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs with ICU expertise to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic 42-bed intensive care unit. This contract position begins on April 13 and offers a 36-hour guarantee with block scheduling available on a shift from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. The unit specializes in Neuro/Med, Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU), surgical trauma care, and includes cutting-edge equipment such as CRRT (Prismaflex or NxStage), IABP, ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and targeted temperature management (Artic Sun).

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active New York RN license and all other active RN licenses verified via NURSYS
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience in specialties such as ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex required
• Heart patient care experience highly preferred
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Drivers license with address matching demographics
• Charge nurse experience in inpatient settings preferred
• Complete and up-to-date resume including travel nursing experience
• Reliable return-to-office (RTO) availability must be submitted with application

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert nursing care for critical patients including those with strokes, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiogenic shock, trauma, and post-operative management
• Manage complex monitoring devices such as IABP, CRRT, ventriculostomy, and ICP monitoring
• Float to other units as needed, excluding Behavioral Health and ER unless holding in ER
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in 12.5-hour night shifts with flexible block scheduling
