Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid NY RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience
- Stepdown/PCU experience is essential
- BLS & ACLS certifications required
- High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
- Telemetry proficiency necessary
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar/sub-dural drains, 3NS and cardene drips, arterial lines, CEA, aneurysm coil/clips, DBS, VP shunts, and seizure management
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care to ICU patients, ensuring adherence to evidence-based standards
- Monitor and interpret complex telemetry data
- Perform neurological assessments, including frequent neuro checks and care of specialized drains
- Manage advanced therapies for neurosurgical patients
- Serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or committee member as assigned
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support optimal patient outcomes
