Deliver critical care with advanced skills in a supportive ICU setting dedicated to patient recovery and professional growth. This contract position offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population in a well-equipped, lower acuity ICU specializing in stroke, COVID-19, surgical, medical, behavioral health, and overdose cases.
Location
Situated in the inviting community of Plymouth, WI, this role is close to a Level IV Trauma Center with a reputation for comprehensive critical care services. Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Registered Nurse with 3+ years ICU experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips
- Skilled in managing ventilators, chest tubes, tracheostomies, line care, and proning techniques
- Comfortable working with bedside and nursing station telemetry monitoring
- Ability to float to Cardiac and Stepdown units as assigned
- Familiarity with EPIC charting, Alaris, and Pyxis systems preferred
Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients with a 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RT, hospitalists, ICU educators, and therapy specialists
- Engage with CNA support, phlebotomy, and IV teams for streamlined patient care
- Manage patient monitoring and respond to acute changes through effective use of telemetry and bedside assessments
- Participate in weekend rotations and on-call duties according to unit needs
- Adhere to PPE protocols and maintain professional appearance with flexible scrub color options
