A critical care nursing opportunity is available in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) located in Oneida, NY, offering a rewarding contract position. This role requires delivering specialized nursing care for adult patients with complex neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions. Candidates will work within a fast-paced 64-bed unit, 15 of which are dedicated to neuro care, managing a diverse patient population with conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and CV stepdown.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intermediate intensive care, including management of temp pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and advanced respiratory support like BiPAP and chronic ventilators.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Float within different units as required to support staffing needs.
• Document patient care accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Adhere to established protocols for patient assessment and intervention.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State with verification through NURSYS.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU nursing and documented travel nursing assignments.
• Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC EMR.
• Valid drivers license with address matching regional demographics.
• Ability to work a 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. shift with block scheduling not guaranteed.
• Commitment to flexibility including willingness to float to other units as necessary.
