Experienced ICU Registered Nurses are needed to provide exceptional care in a high-acuity, 16-bed Intensive Care Unit. This contract assignment offers the chance to work with a collaborative team dedicated to patient-centered care and continuous professional development.
Schedule:
- Expect every other weekend shifts as part of the rotation.
- Potential to float in rotation with staff and other contract nurses as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active RN license with specialized ICU experience strongly preferred.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are mandatory.
- Proven skill in ventilator and sedation management, as well as medication titration.
- Confident in assisting with procedures such as tracheostomy placement, bronchoscopy, and cardioversion.
- Commitment to using AIDET practices, updating communication boards, and supporting effective medication teaching for patients.
- Ability to partner with unit secretaries and techs for seamless care delivery.
- Comfortable documenting via the Meditech system.
- Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Utilize state-of-the-art equipment, including GE monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Drager ventilators.
- Adhere strictly to Trauma III hospital protocols and all unit-specific policies and guidelines.
- Wear required charcoal gray scrubs as part of the professional dress code.
- Engage in continuous improvement through feedback and collaboration.
