Providing specialized care in a high-acuity environment, this role requires a skilled Registered Nurse experienced in intensive care to support multiple ICU units in a dynamic setting. The position is based in Naperville, IL, offering a valuable opportunity for those with a preference for a flexible contract and a commitment to critical patient care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in ICU settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system preferred
• Ability to float among ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
• Willingness to occasionally support Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Local candidates preferred within a 75-mile radius

Schedule/Hours:

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 am to 7:30 pm)
• Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
• Return to Office (RTO) limited to 5 days per month with no more than 2 consecutive days
• No RTO scheduled on holidays, the day before or after holidays, or weekends
• Initial orientation and precepting shift on day shift

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in multiple specialized ICU units
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement best practices and deliver quality care
• Adapt to floating between units to meet patient and facility needs effectively
• Utilize critical thinking and advanced nursing skills to assess and respond to patient conditions
