Job Description

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in ICU care. This contract position supports a dynamic 20-bed Medical ICU/Step Down unit, offering the chance to care for a variety of high-acuity patients and work with a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key Schedule Details:

  • Contract assignment
  • ICU nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
  • Step Down nurse-to-patient ratio: 3:1
  • Floating required to a sister unit (5S) for Step Down (1:3) and progressive level patients (4:1)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in good standing
  • Minimum one year of recent ICU experience (medical ICU or similar, preferred)
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical care skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate care in high-pressure environments
  • Proficiency in rapid response and code management
  • Flexible, collaborative, and adaptable to changing patient care needs
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and Step Down patients
  • Accurately assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to treatment
  • Administer medications, infusions, and interventions according to established protocols
  • Coordinate seamlessly with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Float as needed to the designated sister unit, supporting diverse patient populations with appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios
  • Remain vigilant in upholding safety, infection control, and best practice standards
