This ICU Nursing opportunity in Marshville, NC offers a rewarding setting for experienced critical care nurses ready to advance their career in a supportive hospital environment. With a focus on adult medical ICU patients, this contract position provides a dynamic and diverse clinical experience.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current licenses and certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Proficient in vented patient care, trach and chest tube management, critical drip and central line maintenance, cardiac rhythm interpretation, PIV starts, NG tube insertion and care
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system required
- Comfortable with patient ratios of 1:2-3 depending on staffing
Location Details: Situated in Marshville, NC, this facility provides a community-oriented atmosphere with access to full hospital services, including 24/7 respiratory therapy, anesthesia, hospitalists, and intensivists. The unit has 14 beds, caring for complex medical ICU patients with conditions such as sepsis, DKA, stroke, respiratory and renal failure, GI bleeds, and more. The facility supports nurses with CNA coverage during nights, charge nurse involvement in rapid response teams, and advanced technology including remote triage cameras and Phillips bedside monitors.
Responsibilities include:
- Comprehensive care for critically ill adult patients
- Maintenance of life-support equipment and central lines
- Participation in shift rotations including weekends and holidays (approximately 50%)
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists and virtual critical care providers
Scheduling and Work Environment:
- Shift options: 0645-1915 or 1845-0715
- Weekend rotation with 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks (Fri/Sat/Sun)
- No on-call requirements
- Orientation includes NEO and two shifts with the unit prior to start
- Free parking and professional navy blue scrubs as standard
This is a contract role with flexibility to take schedule requests balanced with unit needs. Nurses may float within ICU or PCU areas, maintaining variety and exposure within critical care.
