Job Description

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position
  • ICU-level care environment

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with current New York State Registration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience, preferably in cardiac or ICU-level care
  • At least 1.5 years recent experience in an acute care facility of similar size and acuity
  • Experience with moderate sedation medications and monitoring
  • Competence in patient prep/recovery for procedures and airway monitoring
  • BLS certification (current or able to obtain)
  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records preferred
  • No prior professional license/certification suspension or investigation
  • No prior involvement as a defendant in liability claims
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must meet all pre-employment health, drug screening, and background check requirements
  • Legal right to work in the United States required
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in large hospitals or trauma centers
  • Certification/experience in ACLS, NNLS, EFM, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, telemetry, triage, ambulatory/primary care, or medical coding/insurance review is highly desired

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient assessments and manage care for critically ill patients in ICU
  • Administer and monitor moderate sedation
  • Prepare patients for procedures and oversee recovery, with vigilant airway monitoring
  • Deliver care with minimal supervision, demonstrating advanced proficiency in acute and specialty care
  • Document accurately using electronic medical records
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
