A critical care opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses specializing in neurosurgical and neurological intensive care. This contract role calls for dedicated nursing professionals who excel in managing complex, high-acuity patients in a Neuro ICU setting. Position Details:

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care
• Shifts: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend
• Float: May be required to float to other inpatient areas as needed
• Number of Openings: 2 part-time (.9 FTE) positions available

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert nursing care for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurological tumors
• Manage care for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients
• Perform thorough neurological assessments utilizing specialized equipment such as Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Utilize Epic electronic medical records system for documentation and patient management
• Participate in one day of unit orientation and complete required training modules, including Epic if necessary

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Skilled in comprehensive neurological assessment and care of critically ill neurological patients
• Preferred experience with pupillometer use, EVD, ICP waveform management, CRRT, and Epic EMR
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team, demonstrate flexibility, and maintain a positive attitude

Dress Code:

• Navy scrubs required
• Hoodies are not permitted
