As an ICU Registered Nurse, youll join a hospital team recognized for its strong core staff and supportive atmosphere. This 13-week assignment gives you the chance to work with a mix of ICU and step-down patients, providing exposure to diverse cases and expanding your resume with valuable critical care experience. Youll learn from dedicated colleagues and observe varying leadership styles, all while growing your clinical and interpersonal skills.
Assignment Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week (option for 48 on request)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Floating: Possible to step-down care if needed
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend/holiday rotation
- Orientation: Set hours (GSA hours not guaranteed during orientation week)
Qualifications
- Active IL RN License required
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (must be current)
- Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience (3 years preferred)
- At least 1 previous travel assignment
- Strong neuro assessment, dysphagia screening, and telemetry/EKG skills
- Competency with vent management, medication titration, sepsis protocol, and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia
- Preferred: tPA administration/assessments, experience with massive transfusion (Belmont)
- Demonstrated adaptability, critical thinking, and social engagement
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a 2:1 ICU or 3:1 step-down patient ratio
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
- Float to step-down unit as required
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and proactive communication
