Job Description

Step into a vital role as a critical care nurse, delivering essential patient care within an intensive care unit. This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled RN with a strong clinical background and a passion for providing high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population.

Schedule:

  • Night shifts, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Full-time hours

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
  • Active New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
  • TNCC, BLS, and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
  • Proficiency in EPIC EMR preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills suitable for the ICU and the relevant patient age group
  • Understanding of patient rights and effective, professional communication

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document thorough patient assessments; set priorities based on acute needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, updating as patient conditions evolve
  • Make evidence-based decisions and adjust plans of care as required
  • Educate patients and families on health needs and participate in discharge planning
  • Perform and record point-of-care testing
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for coordinated, integrated care
  • Delegate assignments and follow up to ensure completion and quality outcomes
  • Participate in orientation and mentorship for new staff; serve as a resource within the unit
  • Foster positive patient and staff relationships, upholding patient confidentiality and the highest standards of professionalism
