Job Description

An opportunity is available for a full-time registered nurse with ICU experience to provide critical care in a hospital setting located in Fort Wainwright, AK. This contract position offers a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week with three weekend shifts per schedule period. On-call and holiday work may be required, and floating as a functional nurse is possible.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. The nurse will review patient history, physical exams, diagnostic reports, and laboratory data, collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare team members. This role demands the formulation and initiation of individualized care plans, including discharge planning, tailored to patient-specific needs and developed in collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Continuous reassessments are necessary to adjust care plans appropriately.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license with at least one year of professional experience in critical care or ICU settings
  • Ability to conduct thorough patient assessments and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Competence in developing and implementing patient-centered care plans
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, on-call, and float as needed
