Job Description

This contract opportunity offers valuable experience in a dynamic 20-bed mixed acuity setting, providing care to a diverse range of critical care and step-down patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adults with critical illnesses or medical complexity in the ICU (2:1 ratio) and step-down (3:1 ratio) settings
  • Competently float to a sister unit (5S) as needed, managing a 1:3 Step Down or 4:1 progressive care patient assignment
  • Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate closely with physicians and allied health professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Accurately document patient status, interventions, and responses within electronic medical records
  • Adhere to safety protocols, infection control policies, and all professional standards in critical care nursing
  • Provide direct support and education to patients and families as they navigate acute and complex health conditions
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives, and engage in weekend and holiday rotation commitments as scheduled

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license with experience in ICU and/or step-down nursing
  • Proven assessment, critical thinking, and clinical skills in high-acuity environments
  • Familiarity with floating between units and adapting to changing patient care needs
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Flexibility for weekend and holiday rotations
