Job Description
Provide expert critical care nursing in a 36-bed ICU setting that includes Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical-Surgical units. This contract role offers a chance to apply your advanced clinical skills within a dynamic team environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients with varied acuity levels, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios typically between 1:2 and up to 1:3
- Utilize EPIC charting efficiently to document patient information and care plans
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Respond to fluctuating unit needs by floating as required and covering weekends and holidays on occasion
- Maintain certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Illinois RN license with active status
- Minimum of 2 years of strong ICU experience preferred
- Proficient with EPIC electronic health record system
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with occasional weekend and holiday coverage
