Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour Day Shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation
- No on-call responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of recent CV ICU experience
- BLS/CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Completion of an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher
- Epic charting experience required
- Preferred: Prior charge nurse and experience with advanced cardiac devices (Impella, ECMO, LVAD)
Unit & Clinical Skills:
- Proficient in interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, cardiac and multi-system organ failure
- Thermoregulation, CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Post Cardiac Surgery (non-OR) care
- Extensive IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration
- Experience with device management: Impella, LVAD/RVAD, ECMO, CRRT
- Familiarity with pre/post cardiac interventions, valve repairs/replacements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional care in the CVICU and float to MICU and other ICU units as needed
- Monitor complex cardiac conditions and operate advanced life-support devices
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Adapt to varied leadership styles and facility protocols
