Job Description

Deliver critical care as an experienced ICU nurse specializing in cardiac intensive care with a dedicated night shift schedule. This contract position offers a focused opportunity to make an impact in a demanding, fast-paced acute care hospital environment renowned for advanced patient care.

Location: Columbia, SC

Position Highlights:

  • Specialty: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1 to 1:2 for attentive patient care
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (total of 12 shifts during the contract)
  • On-call: Possible low-census on-call; no mandatory extra call shifts
  • Floating: Ability to float between like units/sister facilities as needed

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience, first-time travelers welcome
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
  • Preferred: Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) using Prismax

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill cardiac patients
  • Maintain accurate documentation utilizing Epic electronic health records
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility to assist in related units as patient volume demands

Additional Information:

  • Hospital attire: Royal blue scrubs
  • Block scheduling possible with managerial approval and unit needs
  • Note: Awareness of hurricane season staffing protocols (June-November) may be required
