Job Description

Step into a vital role delivering high-acuity care as a Registered Nurse in an intensive care environment. This contract opportunity is designed for professionals skilled in cardiac and ICU patient management. Your expertise in moderate sedation, procedural prep and recovery, and airway monitoring will directly support successful patient outcomes in a dynamic acute care setting.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract-based position (exact duration provided during interview stage)

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and current registration in New York State
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience, preferably with cardiac and ICU-level care
  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the past 2 years) in a facility comparable in size and complexity
  • Travelers must have experience in hospitals or trauma centers of equal or greater size
  • Proficiency in moderate sedation medication administration and monitoring
  • Strong background in prepping and recovering procedural patients, plus airway management
  • Certified in BLS (with readiness to recertify as needed); additional certifications highly valued (ACLS, NNLS, EFM, PALS, TNCC, ENPC)
  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Clean professional history (no suspensions, investigations, or liability claims)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and background check

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient assessment and implement care plans with minimal supervision
  • Perform clinical skills at an advanced level specific to ICU and cardiac care
  • Manage patient needs during procedures, including sedation, triage, and post-procedure monitoring
  • Adhere to hospital protocols, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
