Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Contract Position

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide critical care in a Level 1 Trauma Center ICU setting. This contract role is based in Cicero, IL, and offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where high-quality nursing care is paramount. The position involves 3 twelve-hour day shifts, with a predictable schedule designed to promote work-life balance.

Schedule:

• 3x12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Return to office (RTO) up to 5 days max; no more than 2 consecutive days, with restrictions around holidays and weekends
• Orientation and precepting during the first week on day shift

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients across various ICU units including Burn ICU, Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Medical ICU, Surgical ICU (SICU), and Neuro ICU
• Float as required within ICU units and, if needed, to medical-surgical units, adhering to facility mandatory float policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and production of optimal outcomes
• Utilize Cerner electronic charting system for documentation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience within ICU settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
• Registered Nurse licensed in the state with valid credentials (Pending licenses are not accepted)
• Ability to adapt to a floating environment including multiple ICU specialties
• Local candidates within 75 miles preferred
