Job Description

A critical care opportunity is available for experienced ICU Registered Nurses to support multiple intensive care units at a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Cicero, IL. This contract role offers a structured night shift schedule, professional growth through diverse ICU experiences, and a collaborative healthcare environment.

Location:
Situated in Cicero, IL, this facility serves as a key healthcare provider in the region, known for its commitment to high-quality trauma and critical care services. The area offers easy access to Chicago, providing urban amenities alongside a community-focused atmosphere.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m.)
  • Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
  • No block scheduling
  • Return to Office (RTO) policy: Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days, no holiday, weekend, or day-before/after holiday off requests approved

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care within various ICU settings including Burn ICU, Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Medical ICU, Surgical ICU (SICU), and Neuro ICU
  • Flexibly float across ICU units and potentially medical-surgical units based on staffing needs, within scope of practice
  • Complete orientation and precepting week on day shift
  • Utilize Cerner electronic charting system effectively

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU settings
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Must demonstrate ability to adapt to floating within multiple ICU specialties
  • Locals preferred; candidates within a 75-mile radius considered
  • Pending license candidates not accepted

Additional Details:

  • Scrub color: Navy blue (not provided)
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week
