Provide advanced nursing care in a dynamic ICU setting at a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Cicero, IL. This night-shift contract role offers the opportunity to work across multiple specialized ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU, with occasional float support to medical-surgical units as needed. The first week includes day-shift orientation and precepting to ensure smooth transition and understanding of facility protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care to critically ill patients in various ICU environments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Adhere to facility protocols while floating across ICU units as required
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic charting system
• Support patient safety and quality improvements in a high-acuity trauma center

Qualifications:

• Active RN licensure with at least 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience
• Certifications requiring current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS credentials
• Ability to float within scope, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
• Proven proficiency in handling complex critical care situations
• Residents within 75 miles preferred; pending licenses not accepted

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shift, 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Weekend schedule includes every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Return to work (RTO) capped at five days monthly with restrictions on consecutive days and proximity to holidays
• No holiday or weekend RTO allowed for work-life balance support
