An acute care opportunity is available for experienced ICU Registered Nurses interested in providing specialized care in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. This contract position is designed for skilled nurses who thrive in fast-paced, multidisciplinary ICU settings and are prepared to work a consistent day shift schedule.
Location:
Situated in Chicago, IL, this role offers the chance to serve patients in a major metropolitan hospital known for its critical care excellence and comprehensive trauma services. Schedule/Hours:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
- 3 shifts per week (3x12s)
- Every other weekend scheduled (2 weekends per month)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days with restrictions on consecutive days and holiday-related availability
Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care to critically ill patients across various ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
- Adapt to floating between units as required by facility staffing needs, including potential float to Medical-Surgical units within scope
- Participate in a structured orientation and precepting on day shift during the first week
- Utilize Cerner for electronic charting
- Adhere to facility protocols as a mandatory float facility
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience in ICU settings
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Chicago-based or within 75-mile radius preferred
- Active RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
