Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Illinois
- Minimum of 1 year recent ICU nursing experience
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Comprehensive knowledge of critical care protocols, best practices, and medical equipment
- Strong communication abilities to coordinate care within diverse, multidisciplinary teams
- Skilled at rapid assessment, prioritization, and evidence-based decision-making
- Compassionate and able to provide family support in high-stress situations
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and vital signs
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other ICU staff
- Manage life-support equipment and perform emergency interventions as needed
- Participate in developing individual care plans and patient/family education
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations
