Job Description
Provide critical care in a high-acuity intensive care unit setting, focusing on patients with diverse and complex needs. This role requires skilled nursing professionals experienced in trauma care, multiple medication drips, and specialized monitoring equipment. The position includes a night shift schedule, offering a minimum guaranteed number of hours.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited nursing school
- Active RN license to practice in New York State or by reciprocity
- Minimum of 3 years ICU experience strongly preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Preferred but not required: CCRN and TNCC certifications
- Proficient in managing patients with external ventricular drains (EVD), multiple medication drips, and use of Hemosphere Flotrac monitoring
- Skilled in trauma patient management across various severities
- Familiar with assessment tools such as CAM, CPOT, and RASS
- Experienced in care for patients undergoing hypothermia treatment
- Knowledgeable in managing pleurevac chest tube drainage
- Comfortable using Allscript Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Adherence to strict isolation precautions and hospital protocols
- Familiarity with PCA pump operation
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
- Minimum of 34.5 guaranteed hours weekly
