An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide critical care support in a high-acuity hospital setting. This contract role offers the chance to apply specialized nursing expertise in managing complex ICU patients, including trauma and those requiring advanced life support interventions.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited nursing school
• Current RN license to practice in New York State or by reciprocity
• Minimum of 3 years ICU experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, TNCC (not mandatory)
• Proficient in managing patients with external ventricular drains (EVD), multiple medication drips, and the use of Hemosphere Flotrac monitoring system
• Skilled in trauma patient care across varying levels of severity
• Experience performing assessments using CAM, CPOT, and RASS
• Knowledgeable in hypothermia treatment protocols and pleurevac chest tube drainage care
• Familiarity with Allscript EMR system and proper use of PCA pumps
• Adherence to strict isolation precautions and infection control measures

Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional critical care nursing to ICU patients in accordance with hospital protocols and standards
• Monitor and manage complex patients requiring advanced interventions and continuous assessment
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation within electronic medical records
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and critical care best practices

Schedule:

• Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
• Minimum of 34.5 guaranteed hours per week
