This assignment places you in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU, caring for a diverse patient population including those with DKA, acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions, post-CABGs, and ventilator support. Working in such a dynamic environment allows for significant professional growth through exposure to a variety of critical care situations, advanced workplace protocols, and the opportunity to learn from different healthcare leaders. This is a valuable career step, broadening your skillset and enhancing your nursing resume.
Schedule:
- 7PM 7AM
- Full-time hours
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call or floating responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert nursing care using assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation processes
- Administer medications/treatments, monitor effectiveness/side effects, and document care
- Address complex psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients and families
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers based on assessed needs
- Delegate appropriately and facilitate coordination of care
Qualifications:
- RN License in the state of employment or compact
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Bachelors in Nursing preferred
- One year of critical care experience preferred (new grads will be considered)
- Must complete all orientation, annual and specialty competency requirements
