Advance your nursing career with this opportunity in a dynamic mixed cardiac and medical intensive care unit. Full-time contract positions are available for Registered Nurses with proficiency in caring for patients experiencing a range of acute conditions, including DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and those on ventilators. This role offers multiple shift options with a requirement to work every other weekend and no on-call or floating duties. Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained at 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients within the ICU.

Schedule:

• Multiple shifts available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call obligations

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in Louisiana or active compact state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• At least one year of critical care experience preferred (consideration given to new graduates)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and patient response
• Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care interventions
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care needs and resources
• Respond to complex psychosocial, cultural, and emotional needs of patients and families
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate care responsibilities to support staff

Additional Requirements:

• Completion of facilitys New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
• Successful completion of competency validation for critical care
• Maintenance of annual skills and competency requirements
