Provide expert critical care nursing in a dynamic Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) supporting a 20-bed Level III Trauma Center. This contract opportunity in Boston, MA, calls for an experienced RN with strong skills in adult ICU nursing and telemetry monitoring. The unit manages a variety of complex adult cases including sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and other critical conditions, with 24/7 physician coverage.

Location Overview:
Boston is a vibrant city rich in history, culture, and world-class healthcare institutions. The hospital is situated within a community-focused, 400+ bed medical complex that includes medical/surgical, ICU, maternity, and multiple specialty services. The area offers convenient city amenities, excellent public transportation, and ample onsite parking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a 20-bed MICU with a 1:2 patient ratio, adjusting to 1:1 for high-acuity cases.
• Float to medical/surgical units, maintaining competency in telemetry and managing up to 4-5 patients with a 1:4 or 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including attendings and residents present around the clock.
• Utilize EPIC for accurate and timely charting and patient documentation.
• Work rotating day/evening/night shifts with end-of-week coverage.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Massachusetts RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years continuous adult ICU experience in one location, preferably MICU.
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips proficiently.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Flexibility to float to med-surg units as needed.

Schedule:

• 36 hours/week, rotating days, evenings, nights with end-of-week shifts.
• Night shifts are fixed and do not rotate.
