Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week assignment
- Guaranteed 36 hours/week (option to request 48 hours)
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for ICU and step-down patients (ratios: ICU 2:1, step-down 3:1)
- Strong neuro assessment, NIHSS/dysphagia screening
- Tele/EKG interpretation (exam on first day)
- Management of ETT/ventilator (with RT support)
- Initiate and titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactives, insulin, and manage sepsis protocols
- Implement post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia protocols
- Float to step-down level as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Active IL RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (3 years preferred)
- At least one travel assignment completed
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
- Adaptable, collaborative, and effective at managing change
- Preferred: tPa administration, massive transfusion experience
