Job Description

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in a dynamic Intensive Care Unit dedicated to supporting patients facing complex, life-threatening medical challenges. This position emphasizes collaboration, critical thinking, and superb clinical skills to guide both direct patient interventions and the work of the nursing team across every shift.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 1 year recent clinical experience in an ICU or critical care setting
  • Proficiency delivering care to patients in shock, trauma, or with other acute life-threatening conditions
  • Strong understanding of the nursing process, acute patient monitoring, and advanced life support (ACLS)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Ability to provide both direct care and supervision to assigned nursing staff

Schedule:

  • Contract assignment with variable or rotating shifts as needed by the unit

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a diverse assigned patient group using established protocols and critical thinking
  • Perform comprehensive monitoring, timely interventions, and appropriate escalation for patients in severe acute distress
  • Supervise and direct nursing staff at various levels, ensuring quality care and adherence to best practices
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, case managers, allied health, and support staff to coordinate continuous, holistic care
  • Utilize independent judgment and professional discretion in fast-paced, high-acuity ICU environment
  • Provide clear documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes
