This role is based in a cardiovascular-focused ICU, where youll encounter a broad array of advanced cases and cutting-edge technology. Youll build new competencies by cross-training with multiple ICUs and learning from respected leaders in the field. During your downtime, take advantage of the areas museums, vibrant nightlife, and nearby outdoor escapes to recharge and make your assignment memorable.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour day shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required
  • No call responsibilities

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of CVICU experience
  • Active Illinois RN license
  • Current CPR, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Charge RN experience preferred (please indicate if applicable)
  • Must pass EKG test with 80% or higher
  • Proficiency managing advanced devices (Impella, IABP, LVAD, RVAD, CVVHD/CRRT, Swan Ganz, etc.)
  • CVICU-specific nursing skills and critical care expertise
  • Experience post-cardiac surgery and cardiac cath/intervention
  • Preferred: Experience with ECMO and LVAD patient care

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert cardiovascular ICU care across a diverse patient population
  • Float to other area ICUs as needed (MICU, other CVICUs)
  • Skillfully interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure situations
  • Maintain vigilance in IV therapy, port access, arterial and central line management
  • Provide excellent documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
