A Registered Nurse with ICU specialization is needed for a contract position based in Arlington Heights, IL. This role demands a dedication to acute care and flexibility in floating across various intensive care units to support patient care needs effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care across multiple ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU.
• Support staffing needs by floating to medical-surgical units when necessary, within scope of practice.
• Complete orientation and precepting during the first week on day shift.
• Deliver care during night shifts with guaranteed 36 hours weekly on a 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
• Adhere to facility policies including mandatory floating to meet unit demands.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience in ICU settings.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse; local candidates within a 75-mile radius preferred.
• Ability to use Cerner charting system.
• No pending licenses accepted.

Shift and Scheduling:

• Night shifts: 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend work required (approximately two weekends per month).
• Return to work days limited to 5 per month with no more than 2 consecutive; no return to work on holidays or weekends prior/post-holidays.

• The healthcare facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center known for delivering critical and comprehensive care.
• Uniform scrub color is navy blue (not provided).
