Make a difference caring for critically ill patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. This contract opportunity offers valuable experience in a 20-bed Medical ICU/Step Down unit, blending ICU and stepdown care for comprehensive nursing challenge and growth.
Schedule/Hours:
- Rotating weekends and holidays
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, unencumbered RN license
- Recent experience in ICU nursing strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
- Comfortable caring for both ICU (2:1) and Step Down (3:1) patient ratios
- Willingness to float to sister unit (5S) with stepdown/progressive care ratios (1:3 or 1:4)
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert, compassionate care for critically ill and stepdown patients
- Monitor, assess, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Safely administer medications, manage advanced monitoring equipment, and document care accurately
- Float as needed to support sister unit, delivering high-quality care to a variety of patients
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
