Seeking a skilled registered nurse to provide high-level, compassionate care in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU environment. This full-time contract position offers multiple shift options and a dynamic opportunity to deliver critical care to patients with diagnoses such as DKA, acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions, post-CABG recovery, ventilated patients, and more.

Schedule/Hours:

• Multiple shifts available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating to other units

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned ICU and IMCU patients, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Respond to a variety of clinical situations with an independent and professional approach, managing both routine and complex patient needs.
• Administer and monitor medications and treatments; document patient responses and any side effects.
• Accurately chart patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing interventions.
• Address the psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and educational needs of both patients and their families.
• Provide and facilitate relevant patient and family education, aligning with individual needs and available resources.
• Participate in ongoing competency development, new nursing orientation, and annual clinical verifications.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Louisiana or current Compact state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Minimum of one years experience in critical care nursing highly desired, though new graduates will be considered
• Commitment to ongoing learning and successful completion of all designated onboarding and competency requirements
