Seeking a skilled registered nurse to provide high-level, compassionate care in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU environment. This full-time contract position offers multiple shift options and a dynamic opportunity to deliver critical care to patients with diagnoses such as DKA, acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions, post-CABG recovery, ventilated patients, and more.
Schedule/Hours:
- Multiple shifts available
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating to other units
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned ICU and IMCU patients, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Respond to a variety of clinical situations with an independent and professional approach, managing both routine and complex patient needs.
- Administer and monitor medications and treatments; document patient responses and any side effects.
- Accurately chart patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing interventions.
- Address the psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and educational needs of both patients and their families.
- Provide and facilitate relevant patient and family education, aligning with individual needs and available resources.
- Participate in ongoing competency development, new nursing orientation, and annual clinical verifications.
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Louisiana or current Compact state license
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of one years experience in critical care nursing highly desired, though new graduates will be considered
- Commitment to ongoing learning and successful completion of all designated onboarding and competency requirements
